The Whitehall Food Pantry
to serve the community by extending a helping hand
Open Mondays 6 pm - 8 pm by Appointment
Contact Telephone: 484-246-5715

The Whitehall Food Pantry was established in 1974 at St Stephen's Church and has been serving Whitehall residents in need ever since.

About 50% of the food supplies are obtained from the Second Harvest Food Bank (state & federal grants based on the number of recipients).  Second Harvest serves six counties in Northeastern PA distributing over four million pounds of food each year through 84 food pantries like ours.

The other 50% comes from individual donations and a generous community effort with the active collaboration of Whitehall churches; such as Faith Lutheran, St John's Lutheran (Fullerton), First Presbyterian (Hokendauqua), St John's UCC (Mickley), and  St John's UCC (Fullerton), as well as individuals from other churches who both drop off food and volunteer.

Civic groups and area businesses play a large part in our support, as well.

Every Monday morning, Whitehall Food Pantry volunteers pick up several cases of food from the Giant Food Store in Coplay, Redners Market, Whitehall and Weis Markets in Whitehall. Chick-fil A, Big Lots and Egypt Star Bakery also provide regular food donations.

Many volunteers across our community give of their time which is the cornerstone for sustainability and growth of the food pantry.

The Impact

The Whitehall Food Pantry continues to expand its outreach servicing approximately 165 different families each month and over 4,600 individuals in the course of a year. Some of our families just need short-term emergency aid while others suffer continuing situations.
