Vicar - Fr. H. Jonathan Mayo

Father Jonathan is a native of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, returning to Pennsylvania in 2010 after a 30-year absence.  He had previously served parishes in California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. During that time, because he was serving small churches, he additionally enjoyed a career in Information Technology, from which he retired in 2010. He graduated from Wyoming Seminary College Prep School, Kingston, PA in 1971, Wilkes College (now University), Wilkes-Barre, in 1975, and St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, Crestwood, NY, in 1980. He has immediate family living in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. In addition to serving at St. Stephen's, Fr. J. (as everyone calls him) also serves as Rector of St. George's Church, Hellertown, PA.

He and his wife Hazel, who hails originally from Georgetown, Guyana, South America, were married in 2013.

In Memoriam - Director of Music
Mr. Maurice Dimmick

Maurice entered into eternal life on April 6,  2020.  Maurice had been organist, choir director, and bell choir director at St. Stephen's since 1964.  He was a tremendous talent, and a major part of the history of this parish.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren.  He will be sorely missed, and we pray that he may rest in eternal peace, and rise in Glory on the Last Day!

Welcome to St. Stephen's Church
